Don't Want/Can't Have
As I approached my sterilization surgery, I kept returning to this energetic difference between not wanting something and not being able to have something (even if it is my choice). For some reason, it felt like a massive shift. It feels different to eliminate the possibility forever, to eliminate the endless “but you might change your mind someday.” Not any more. I’ve upgraded “don’t want” into “can’t have.” And it comes with an interesting sense of peace on the other side of the pressure.
