I remember distinctly the day I looked around my living room and realized that the green, grey, & black metropolitan Paris feel I was going for in my living room had accidentally morphed into a dull grey & black slump. The room was depressing. In that moment, I decided to inject some color into my home. It started with swapping the mirror above my couch with a large painting. Now my living room is alive with greens and pinks and oranges and a little bit of the whole rainbow. I've purposefully curated a space that is bright & lively because it is the room in my house where I spend the most time. I want my time there to be joyful.
And I want to help you create that kind of feeling in your home too. Your home is such a special space. Adding a piece of commissioned artwork made specifically for you is a great way to add personality & joy. In the book Joyful, Ingrid Fetell Lee talks about how the city of Tirana, Albania was transformed when the mayor decided to paint the grey buildings in bright colors, "Nothing had changed, except on the surface. A few patches of red and yellow, turquoise and violet. And yet everything had changed. The city was alive, ebullient. Joyful." Let's add that feeling to your home! |
Why Commission a piece?A commission piece will allow you to have a say in the size, color palette, and theme of your piece to make sure that it is a perfect fit for your space. I am excited to hear about your space and the artwork you are looking to add.
TimelineCommission pieces take approximately 3 months to complete. Oil paint has a long dry time, and the first two months will be used to work on the piece and the last month will be used as dry time before delivery.
