I Deserve a Gold Star comes from the Motion City Soundtrack song called Worker Bee. As I kid, I remember getting stickers or other little achievement tokens for doing good things - especially at day care. And I would like to think that I still deserve those little tokens as an adult. I Deserve a Gold Star is part of a triptych of "I" statements along with Je Ne Sais Quoi and I Like My Chai Double Dirty.
