You’re the Art, Babe
“You’re the art, babe” was once sent to me via text message. It was this affirmation that everything I do is art - not just the paintings I create. The clothes and make-up I wear, the way I decorate my house and landscape my yard, the way I move through this beautiful thing called life. It’s all art. It can be as mundane or as marvelous as I want to make it.
The idea with this painting and its companion, Show Offy Artistry, was to create a combination of stained glass sections that were loud and flamboyant and contradictory, but at the same time played nicely together. The cool toned polka dots, pink leopard print, gold designs on chartreuse, and rich purple create this weird harmonious mix.
Size Details: "You're the Art, Babe" is a 22"x22" oil painting on stretched canvas. There is a hanging wire on the back.

Location: This painting is currently on display at the Len G. Everett Gallery located inside Hewes Library on Monmouth College’s campus until September 22nd. If sold, pieces will be available for pick-up or shipping after September 22nd. There will be an option for pickup in Monmouth, IL and in Green Bay, WI at dates to be determined.
