Main Character Energy
Last year I was having a conversation with someone about the idea of being the main character in life and whether we feel like the main character or a background character in someone else’s life. For me, I do tend towards that main character energy.
Maybe it's that I’ve seen the Holiday too many times. I love Arthur’s wisdom to Iris about being the leading lady in her own life instead of the best friend. It’s gone to heart.
There are still times that I feel myself falling into this trap - generally caused by imposter syndrome. Later in the year, I saw this reel that suggested if you’re struggling, to think of yourself as the main character and think about what you would be cheering them on for or wishing they would do. And then do that. At that time, I had been struggling with a bit of imposter syndrome and doubt. And the idea of being the main character of my life came back once again.
And of course that prompted me to go back and watch the Holiday again (at this point I don’t really need an excuse).
And it got me all inspired again to be the main character in my own story. And make this piece as a statement to owning my main character energy.
You’re supposed to be the leading lady in your own life.
