Notre Dame de Paris
"Notre Dame de Paris" was inspired by the fire at Notre Dame de Paris in 2019 and the debate that followed regarding the amount of money being given to repair the historic cathedral vs. using the money on meaningful humanitarian causes.
France and the French language have been part of my life since middle school. I went to France in high school and I studied abroad in France during college. I've been to Notre Dame de St. Michel de Paris numerous times during both of my trips to France. It's where I really started to bond with my host family, it's where the ghost tour of Paris started, and it's one of the reasons that I love gothic cathedrals and stained glass.
I'm not even a practicing Catholic, and I have strong ties to this building in France. I understand it is just a building, but to so many people across the world, that building means something.
